Can someone who is not a student/has no affiliation with University of Maryland use the library? If so, are there restrictions as to when a member of the public can use the library?

Answer

Anyone can access the library. If they are not an affiliate of UMB they will need to show some form of identification when they come in. Non-affiliates can connect to the UMB Guest Wifi Network if they have a laptop or mobile device to access the internet and our resources. If they are doing research we are happy to log them onto one of our computers and provide assistance as needed. If they just need to check email/surf the web we have a guest computer that they can access for 30 minutes. Visitors can stay in the library until 10pm during the year as long as they are in by 8pm.
